Fr. Carlos Cifuentes, Parochial Vicar

Fr. Carlos Cifuentes, Ordained in June 2016, is from Medellin, Colombia. He started his journey towards priesthood 14 years ago, when he entered the seminary in his home city. In 2010, the Lord gave the opportunity to continue my seminary formation in the United States to serve His Church in the Archdiocese of Atlanta. He spent the first two years learning English and the culture. In the fall of 2012, he began studies in Theology at Mundelein Seminary (45 min. North of Chicago, IL). He says, “During this time I can definitely say that the Lord, in His infinite love, mercy, and wisdom, has molded me patiently like the potter to which He lovely gives form and creates something pleasing to Him. I can say that my former seminary, my years out of seminary formation, and my time here in the States and at Mundelein Seminary helped me to grow more in my love for God and His Universal Church. Everything I learned in all those places has served me in my Christian life and, God willing, it all will help me in my ministry here at Prince of Peace.”

In his “free time”, you can find Fr. Carlos is a huge soccer fan and player! “You will hear me talking about soccer a lot!… but not more than what I talk about Jesus Christ, of course! I also enjoy reading, and spending time with family and friends.”
